The Osceola Fire Department received notification that they are the recipient of an Alliant Energy Foundation Homes Town Safety Grant. The Department received a grant in the amount of $1,000.
The Department requested the funding for a new truck project they are working on. The Department aims to bring cutting edge firefighting technology with Ultra High-Pressure Fire suppression unit. This unit will be on a 4-wheel drive chassis in order to increase successful rescues and fire suppression in all driving conditions. The Department has been awarded grants for this project including but not limited to: Schildberg Foundation $5,000, South Central Iowa Community Foundation $2,500, and SC Iowa housing Foundation $2,000. The Department has several other grant opportunities they are seeking. The Department is proud to partner with these Foundations as they continue to support projects to benefit the Community.
The Department held a free will donation pancake breakfast and water fights on July 6 at the Fire Station. Additional fundraiser opportunities were available that day. All proceeds benefited this project. The Department strives to have the best equipment available while having the smallest footprint possible on the overall budget.
